Beyond Radio is delighted to once again be your hosts for the annual Alannafest festival which this year is going back to the 1980s.
AlannaFest is an outdoor music festival with families in mind that raises vital funds for CancerCare, and this year takes place on Bank Holiday Sunday, August 27.
This year's Alannafest will be held at the Trimpell Sports and Social Club in Morecambe and will be themed on the decade of crimped hair, leg warmers, bomber jackets, netted gloves and funky headbands!
It will also celebrate 40 years of the CancerCare charity, which supports families across North Lancashire and South Cumbria.
The event was set up in memory of mum-of-two Alanna Duffy (pictured below), who died of leukaemia in 2008, aged 26.
Alannafest is run by a dedicated team of Alanna's close family and friends who spend months of planning to keep the spirit of Alanna alive, whilst helping those that give people affected by cancer a lifeline during those darkest hours.
The event has grown from a small fundraising cricket match to a community festival raising thousands for the charity.
This year's line-up will be hosted by Beyond Radio's Phill Hayward with the Beyond Radio team.
You are invited to dress for the 80s, and enjoy live music from Queen tribute band 'Queen II', a Tina Turner tribute, Yazoo tribute, The Fuse, Mark McKenna, Melanie Horabin, and routines from the Happy Feet Cheerleaders and the Strawberry Dance Studios.
There will be loads of fun for the family including inflatables, trampolines, Zorb Balls, rides, carnival games, face painting, hair braiding, street food stalls, beer tent, fully licensed bar, barista and alcoholic coffees, craft stalls, novelty toy stalls, tombola, doggy watering hole, cakes and desserts, snow cones, ice cream, hair accessories and much more.
Alannafest runs from 11am until 7pm on Sunday August 27 in the beer garden at the Trimpell Club.
Tickets are available here.
Beyond Radio also hosted last year's Alannafest at Heysham Cricket Club. See below for our interview with Alanna's sister, Katie Duffy, before the 2022 event.
